Pu Erh Tea
Much is contained within the name Pu Erh. The name speaks to a river town in South Western China, where this tea first aggregated in centuries past. It refers to tea from the 6 traditional mountains in Yunnan where Pu Erh is grown, and to the 6 mountains that came to be counted later.
There are teas to wash down dim sum with as there are teas which go beyond words to describe — their grace and beauty nothing less than transcendent.
I drink Pu Erh tea in a mug , staring at a computer screen, and I sit with it in meditation — brewing tea kung fu style. Whichever task is at hand, tea makes it go more smoothly — with more buoyancy, more lightness.
Choosing quality tea is important, in fact it is everything. Quality tea doesn’t necessarily mean expensive. Good tea can be found. The only qualification is being aware that it exists, and knowing where to look.
6 Mountains tea opens the door to the world of fine quality teas. The door is open to princes as well as monks– the way Pu Erh tea has always been.
